3 days - 2 points of view

Welp, we had a first this week. Mama Bear and Papa Bear left Baby Bear for 3 whole days. We have left him overnight - but never for more than 24 hours. And have never been 6 hours away! He was in the most amazing hands with Grandma and Grandpa watching him.

View Point #1:
Grandma and Grandpa had an awesome time with Luke. We left Tuesday morning and returned earlier than expected Thursday night. (NO not because I missed him too much. We were exhausted from a marathon 3 days and the event(s) we had scheduled for Thursday were outside and it was raining/storming.)

Here's what they did those 3 days:

We sent them to pick blueberries - but the birds ate all the crop so they ended up 'picking' at the Farmer's Market instead:

Of course they went to the tractor store:

Jam sessions with Grandpa - I guess they had a lot of them. Luke wanted to play HapDay (Happy Birthday) and Jesus (Jesus Loves Me) over and over again.

Posing with the books from the tractor store. This picture kills me! I guess he already has all the toys and books from the store so Grandpa got him some of the free catalogs. And Grandpa really reads them to him!!!!!!!

And because he was so good he got to go (for the very 1st time) to Chuck E. Cheese's.






View Point #2:

Rob and I have been planning our anniversary/birthday/Christmas present/trip to Washington D.C. to attend the Legg Mason Tennis Classic (men's professional tennis tournament) for quite some time now. We were to leave Tuesday morning, arrive at our hotel in Bethesda MD around 1ish and continue on to the tournament which would be from 4-midnightish. As to not bore the non-tennis fans out there I will keep the details to a minimum - especially since we know this blog is about Luke, right???
The tournament was amazing. We got to see some big name players and even meet a few. (Roddick, Isner, Tipsarevic) They just walk around like any old person. The matches were amazing. Especially Tuesday night. We stayed to watch Isner win his 2nd round match until almost 12:45am. After taking the shuttle etc. we finally made it to the hotel around 2am. Wednesday we got up early (7:45am) to do some sight-seeing. Since we had already seen the monuments and normal touristy stuff (and since we didn't have much time) we decided just to walk around and see some different things. BOY did we walk! We both had huge blisters. And it was HOT! We also decided to use the Metro on Wednesday - that is an experience in itself! We went to the tournament again Wednesday night, slept in Thursday morning, and then headed home. We stopped at a little lake about an hour and a half from home and just relaxed on this awesome (random) hammock swing. It was our best trip since our honeymoon! I have LOTS more details (and pictures!) for anyone that wants to know! :)
